Two cheerful girls aged around 10, sitting at a pink classroom desk, taking a selfie together. Both have galaxy-colored hair — one in a half-braid ponytail and the other in a neat bun with sparkly tinsels — smiling brightly while holding colorful phones. Two identical blonde classmates sit behind them in a warm, magical school setting. Adventures with Anahita, Questa Elementary School

Ding! Today, I brought my phone to HogWarts, the school for the endowed. I couldn’t wait to have fun and get all my classmates’ phone numbers.

As I walked into class from my dorm, I was browsing TikTok and watching YouTube Shorts. All the other kids looked at me, aspiring. I guessed they wanted to be me so bad. Ms. OhioRizz welcomed us into the classroom of the HiggyPoes. The morning was filled with texts and calls. People were watching Instagram and playing Roblox.

“Settle down class!” said Ms. OhioRizz, in her high-pitched British accent.

We instantly stopped looking at our phone screens, our eyes and heads turned to her promptly. We did not want to make her mad on a special day.

“Today we will be learning about how a Linkvoid can barf blackholes and how a Breid can doodle poodle! First, let’s know how today’s studies will be for only sixteen minutes. The rest of the time will be spent on phones!” she said, knowing that we would want to do that.

After that, we continued browsing TikTok. Then, I glanced at the Maybelin twins, Maisy and Bethina. The twins did not have a phone nor an iPad, so I felt that they were left out.

I felt so sympathetic that I walked over, saying, “Hey. Maybe we could sit together so you could use my phone.”

They gave me a crooked smile, nodded, and joined me. The first few minutes were fine. The twins acted like goody goodies.

Everything was fine. But then, I felt as if something was going to go plum bad.

Sure enough, the twins had deleted my apps, and I had to reinstall it.

I could clearly see a snicker between them as I went to sit with my BFF, KaLlista Blackpink Jenny of France the Twenty-Third.

“Hey! Wha’ sup!” she said.

“THE TWINS HAPPENED,” I said.

“Oh Anahita, the gullible,” she said with her sweet tone of voice, resting her arm on my shoulders.

Then, reality struck me as I watched the twins pull out phones for themselves.

“THEY LIED! They had phones for themselves!” I yelled in rage.

“Ok, well I—” KaLlista started, but was interrupted by me.

“Argh! And they lost me $347 for the apps I had to reinstall! AND… and…” I said, breaking into tears.

“Shh! Shh! I don’t want you to be sad today, ok? Today is a special day and… and you could do a lot of things instead of crying,” KaLlista said, cradling my head like she was holding a baby, cradling it to sleep.

“I know, but it is—sob—just unfair. Just because this is a—hic—boarding school doesn’t mean my parents—sob—hic—won’t know!” I exclaimed, sobbing as I did.

“Yah! Does it look like life is fair? NO! And don’t worry about the money. I’ll take care of it. And Anahita, no matter how far you look, there is no area where everyone is a goody two shoes and fair. You just have to brush through,” she said, willingly.

She is a millionaire. A wise one always listens to her advice. Then, I dried up my tears and made GIFs with KaLlista on my phone. My teacher was just joking around about studying. We did not have to study today.

Having a phone was great. I got to search up hard questions and do a lot of things that would be gravity-defying on a regular school day!

At the end of the day, KaLlista and I walked to our dorm. Now, I was skipping, totally out of the blue.

“After today, we are going to let fifth graders and above bring their phones to class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,” our principal said gleefully over the speakers. “Don’t make me regret this!”

“Yess! Thank the gods today is now Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!” I exclaimed to KaLlista.

“Well, someone’s out of the blue,” she said happily, like a mother would.

Cheers echoed in the corridors as we could use phones IN CLASS! At night, as I was tying my braids in the moonlight, I realized that today was an opportunity to change school history for the better. As I tucked myself into the cozy covers, I asked KaLlista if she was awake. She was snoring away. We were in the same bed because the beds at HogWarts were queen beds.

Then, I drifted off to sleep.
