I am so excited to tell you that I won first place (for the 4th time in a row) in my school’s science fair! My project, Areosphere X AGI, is a miniature Mars habitat controlled by an AGI-style brain. It demonstrates how humans can live on Mars with sensors to observe the environment, an AGI-style brain to think and decide independently, and machines to act automatically.

Areosphere X AGI was initially a summer project called Sunny the Solar Bot. Sunny watered plants using AI and had wheels to move around. It checked soil moisture with a soil moisture sensor and watered plants using a water pump.
I wondered if Sunny could be used for something more important. Since I was always drawn to Mars, I turned it into a Mars Habitat Simulator with AI. I soon realized that regular AI would not fully help astronauts on future Mars missions because it still depends on humans to give it specific commands. Unlike AI, which follows programmed instructions, AGI is designed to think, learn, and make decisions on its own, more like a human mind.

I came across the word AGI and learned more about the concept. After researching it, I knew it was perfect for my project.
At the STEAM fair, I got a full score on my scoring sheet. A representative from the Lammersville Unified School District came to see my project, as well as my school’s principal. Everyone loved my project and had so many questions. They were fascinated by my detailed log and my huge model!

Now, I will be going to San Joaquin County for my project! As always, I was so jubilant to tell you about this! Last but not the least Thank you Parents, Mrs. Means and Mrs. Seguin (my sigma teacher) and my Gen Alpha class for supporting me.
