Turtle walked to the river, just as Anansi had told him to.
As he was washing his hands, he saw a gold coin.
He popped it into his shell and walked back to Anansi.

When he returned, he saw Anansi feasting on the yams.
“ANANSI! YOU SAID I COULD HAVE SOME YAMS TOO!” said Turtle, angry.
“You took too long,” replied Anansi.
“The yams were getting cold. Never serve your guests cold food,” smiled Anansi, sweetly.
“ARGH! Life is a DAYMARE with you, Anansi!” Turtle said, infuriated.
He walked away, hungry and mad, along the streets.
He soon came across a bazaar, with a restaurant called:
FOOD FOR TURTLES.
He walked inside, and there was—ANANSI!
“Get out, you—you nineteen hundred styled turtle!” said Anansi.
“Oh — you rotten spider! Come FIGHT with the master!” said Turtle, loosening up and punching the air.
“OH YEAH!” said Anansi.
“Bibbidi Bobbidi BOO!” said Anansi with a licorice wand, and some Webghetti on a table looped around Turtle…
But soon Anansi was covered in sticky, icky slime.
“Oops! My spell backfired! Guess I need to practice more!” said Anansi.
“It’s okay. Friends again?” asked Turtle.

“Sure! I do need another friend to betray, anyway!” said Anansi, with a malicious grin.
“Exccccuuuuussseee me?!” asked Turtle.
“Erm, TOODLES!” said Anansi nervously, as he kicked and flipped out the door, with Turtle at his heels.
“ANANSI, GET BACK HERE! I need to AVENGE you!” said Turtle.
“Uh-uh!” said Anansi. “I ain’t gettin’ caught!”
“Your attitude is nauseating!” said Turtle, making an ick face.
“Haha!” said Anansi.
“Okay, this is the last time I will ask this:
Friends again?” inquired Turtle, squeezing his eyes closed and holding out his pinky.
“Friends,” said Anansi, with a warm smile, placing his pinky on Turtle’s pinky.

They hugged each other, and Anansi said,
“I have understood the consequences of my ways.”
“I knew you would finally come to your senses,” said Turtle.
“Want some fresh yams? There are some left in my restaurant. I created it for you, as a gift. I am sorry for what I did,” said Anansi.
“Deal!” said Turtle. “And thank you for the gift. It’s a jolly good surprise!”
“Thanks,” said Anansi, blushing.
And they walked back to the restaurant, hand in hand, happily ever after.
