July 4th dance adventure at Central Park, Mountain House Author Anahita Riyaz Ahmed. Adventure with Anahita

When I was in 3rd grade, I was in a dancing academy called Enpointe. I was in a hip hop dance for two songs: “Timber” and “Hair Up.” When we performed, we were called for two encores! We danced all evening, our periwinkle costumes shimmering in the blue light. We wore eye shadow, blush, lipstick, mascara, and eyeliner. It was an exciting dance, and I enjoyed performing it.

Just as I thought two encores were the best thing that had ever happened in my life, I got an email from the academy. We would be performing in Mountain House’s (Mountain House is where I live!) Fourth of July festival, in Central Park! What an Honor! We would be performing after the national anthem, on the stage.

On the day of the July Fourth festival, we were super hyped, and I learned that one of my friends and her little sister were playing their violins in the parade. We danced so well, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to dance on that stage!

It was so phenomenal that people were cheering even before we finished “Timber”! It was AMAZING, and I am so, so, so vivacious to tell you about this event!
