CLICK! My name is Yellow Poly, and I am one of the luckiest roly polies to be able to live in Rubber Ducky Isopod, or RDI City, the pillbug capital of the nation. I am a Little Sea Isopod, unlike many who live here. My kind is very rare, but every one of my type lives here. We roly polies were setting up our luminescent, one-of-a-kind lights everywhere, including all the skyscrapers. The others were in stores such as BugingsDale and Toys-R-On-Us, to buy gifts.

Suddenly, a crash was heard from DoodleBug Island. We all turned to look at it, but it was a diversion! When we spun back to get to decorating, all the decorations were gone, including the ones we had set up!

“Oh no! How could anyone do such a thing!” the roly polies exclaimed, as everyone burst into an uproar.

Luckily, I was Rubber Ducky Isopod City’s royal detective!

“I will find our decorations and restore Christmas!” I said bravely.

“THANK YOU, YELLOW, ROYAL DETECTIVE!” everyone said.

Then, I put on my detective clothes and blue coat, now ready to search. And I was off. I ventured through the city and roamed the areas where there were lights and décor. As I was walking, I noticed that there were muddy footprints near a fire hydrant. I whipped out my magnifying glass and studied the footprints. I realized that it wasn’t mud. It was ash! I gasped, as I knew who stole the lights.

“Citizens of RDI City! I want to bring to your attention that I know who the culprit is. It’s Siracha the Firebug!” I squeaked.

The air was filled with gasps.

“Ummm… Ms. Yellow, how are we going to find Siracha if his home only appears on July Fourth?” asked a timid voice.

“We’ll ask Everest Pretzel Poly,” I said knowingly.

Everest Pretzel Poly is a roly poly who was a sorcerer, but who gave up that life to own a restaurant. She makes food with magical properties, like “GROW YOUR TOES MUSHROOMS” and “SCALY POLIES IN A NEST.” Many polies travel from around the world to taste her enchanting meals.

I walked to Everest’s home and told her about our dilemma. She gave me a croissant that would take me to the future July Fourth, and a lollipop that would bring me back.

I took a bite and landed in Siracha’s lair. I crept around and found the décor. I took it and walked away. Then, I licked the lollipop. I landed right in the town square, where everyone was waiting.

“YAY!” yelled the citizens of RDI City. They ran to grab their decorations and began to string them up again.

Soon, Siracha the Firebug came.

“WHY DO YOU HAVE MY DECORATIONS?” asked Siracha.

“They are actually our decorations. You may not take them again. But you can decorate and celebrate Christmas with us!” I said gleefully.

“Y-y-you would do that for me?” asked Siracha.

“YES!” we all said.

Siracha joined us in decorating, and he agreed not to take the decorations again.
