In the month of March, the high school held a music festival for 5th graders in the Lammersville district. We were going to perform in the theater, showcasing our music knowledge to our parents, since this was the first time we had instruments.

Questa, my school, was partnered with Wickland, another school. There were 3 categories: choir, orchestra, and band, listed in the same order we would play. I was in orchestra, playing the cello, and the other people in my class either had a cello like me, a double bass, a viola, or a violin.
My class was late by 30 minutes to the festival because our bus had 26 empty seats, so we let 26 kids from another class in. But in the end, we had 4 students without seats, and the other White Castle Tour bus left, so we had to make space. In the end, another class, who only had 5 students, got off the bus, and we had room for everyone.
At the music festival, we got to sit in the top row when watching the other classes, and we had a lot of fun performing on stage when it was our turn. My class performed Copy Cat Concerto and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and it was amazing, even though I accidentally started a bit too early. At the beginning of the performance, I felt a mixture of nervousness and excitement, but toward the middle and end of it, I was so jovial! My parents loved it, and they got to sit right in the front row!
Back at school, we had extra recess before going to lunch. My friend and I had a fun time talking, and after lunch we continued that, but inside the classroom. We gossiped, read newspapers from the 70s, and had a jubilant time.
We also sprayed some of my friend’s Daisy coconut vanilla perfume on the boys to get back at them for spraying Axe body spray deodorant on us girls. It was SOOOOO fun!
I am so glad that I got to tell you all of this, and trust me, it was truly the best Friday we could ever have!
